Seaway International Cargo up Five Percent

At the midpoint of the St. Lawrence Seaway's 1999 navigation season, U.S. international trade through the waterway exceeded last year's tonnage levels, according to the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC). At the midpoint, total U.S. international trade had reached 3.252 million metric tons, five percent ahead of the total of 3.098 million metric tons at the same time last year.
