UKSR to Embark on 4th Mission to Survey Deep Sea Minerals

Glomar Minerals, Inc., an American seabed minerals company, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary UK Seabed Resources Limited (UKSR) will embark on its fourth major exploration campaign to the Pacific Clarion Clipperton Zone (CCZ) this week.Nodules found within the Company’s two CCZ license areas are rich in manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, and rare earths—minerals critical to defense, aerospace, energy, and modern manufacturing. The new 75-day research mission will be the first to gather geological and biological samples in UKSR’s second license area, UK2, in over forty years.

TDI-Brooks Completes Offshore Seismic, Geochemical Surveys

TDI-Brooks has successfully completed a 2D high-resolution shallow hazard seismic survey offshore Trinidad & Tobago. The acquired and processed lines support de-risking efforts for a planned offshore cluster installation, as well as the subsequent drilling of wells from this structure. Through the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of the 2D high-resolution seismic data, the identified areas of interest have been effectively evaluated and risk-reduced. SCHOTTEL has been chosen by Spanish shipyard GONDAN to provide the propulsion package for the Northern Lighthouse Board’s (NLB) newest vessel, POLE STAR. The ship was officially named on January 21, 2026 by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Patron of the Northern Lighthouse Board.Designed to maintain and service lighthouses, buoys, and other marine aids to navigation, POLE STAR requires high maneuverability supported by reliable propulsion. Luke holds a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University.While studying at Texas A&M, Luke collaborated with team members to design and build an electric boat for competition in the Promoting Electric Propulsion race held by ASNE. He is experienced in various areas, including structural design and 3DCAD software. In addition, he is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.

Survey Vessel Runs Aground off Italy

The geophysical survey vessel Fugro Mercator ran aground off the north coast of Elba, Italy, on March 22.The Italian coastguard arrived on site swiftly to provide support and monitor the situation.
