NORDEN Sells Two Ships, Adds Multi-Purpose Newbuild Leases

Danish shipping company NORDEN has sold one MR tanker and one Capesize dry bulk vessel from its owned fleet, capitalizing on strong asset prices across the dry cargo and tanker markets.The company also said it had entered into two new multi-purpose (MPP) newbuilding lease agreements with purchase options, as part of its strategy to expand in the project cargo market. DMC to Deliver Equipment Packages for 14 MPVs at Indian Shipyards

Damen Marine Components (DMC) has secured contracts to supply rudders, steering gear and nozzles for 14 multi-purpose vessels (MPVs) under construction at two shipyards in India.The contracts cover eight 6,300 DWT MPVs being built by Udupi Cochin Shipyard for a Scandinavian customer, and six 7,500 DWT MPVs being built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders for Danish shipowner Navi Merchants.For the Udupi Cochin Shipyard vessels, DMC will deliver piston-type steering gear and Atlantic-type rudders tailored to the specific design.

Palfinger to Supply Safety Equipment for Canadian Coast Guard's New MPVs

Palfinger Marine, an Austrian manufacturer of hydraulic lifting, loading, and handling systems for marine applications, been selected to supply its Polar Class lifeboats and davits package for the first fleet of ships in the Canadian Coast Guard’s Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) renewal program.The contract covers the delivery of equipment for the first six of up to 16 vessels.The collaboration further extends Palfinger Marine’s long-standing partnership with Seaspan and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG).
