Thordon Bearings, SNAME Debut Scholarship

Thordon Bearings Inc. has partnered with the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) to launch the Thordon Bearings Graduate Scholarship, an annual award that will support exceptional postgraduate students developing solutions to reduce the marine industry’s environmental footprint.Made possible through a significant contribution from Thordon founder George A. “Sandy” Thomson, the scholarship is intended to inspire the design of greener, cleaner, and more efficient vessels.

Crowley Awards 2025 Scholarships to Maritime Students

Seventeen students from seven U.S. and El Salvador maritime academies and universities have been selected as the 2025 recipients of the Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship. Singapore Maritime Foundation Hosts MaritimeONE Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025

A total of 60 MaritimeONE Scholarships were awarded by sponsors from the maritime industry, unions, associations and foundations at the MaritimeONE Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025 held by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF). Mr. Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Transport, was the Guest of Honor. This year, 39 sponsoring organizations demonstrated Maritime Singapore’s collective commitment to cultivating a robust talent pipeline, contributing S$1.48 million worth in scholarships to a diverse profile of tertiary students.
