The number of passengers injured when a P&O channel ferry rammed a dock in Calais has risen to 40, French emergency services said. Three people were seriously injured, 14 were slightly hurt and the others suffered bruises.
A P&O spokeswoman said the ferry L'Aquitaine failed to go into reverse during maneuvering, apparently due to a mechanical fault.
