SCHOTTEL: Powering Maritime’s Future
In Spay, Germany, resides one of the maritime industry’s premiere power players – SCHOTTEL. Founded in 1921 as a small machine shop, more than a century later SCHOTTEL is still privately owned, but has evolved from a local repair shop and boatyard into a global behemoth in marine propulsion technology. At the recent SMM 2026 exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, Maritime Reporter TV was afforded a unique opportunity to interview a trio of SCHOTTEL executives: Roland Schwandt, CEO; Viktor Brickmann, VP Sales); and Stefan Buch, VP After Sales Service; for insights on how SCHOTTEL is investing money, effort and time to develop and deliver quality propulsion products and service to the global maritime industry.
