US Hospital Ship Aids Vietnam Province
The hospital ship called at the port as part of the 'Pacific Partnership 2012'. A number of re-planned engagements will be carried out with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force amphibious ship Oosumi between July 10 and 24. They include two engineering, six medical and dental and four veterinary civil action programs, as well as three biomedical repairs and three subject matter expert engagements.

The US EPA has issued Interim Guidance on the Non-Availability of Compliant Fuel Oil for the North American ECA and more information is also available on the US EPA website.

Drydocks World, announced the completion of maintenance work on Abu Dhabi-UAE based National Drilling Companyâs (NDC) Jack-Up Cantilever type Self Elevating Drilling Platform, Delma, which was built in Brazil in 1983. Drydocks World has repaired over a 100 rigs since operations began and has implemented more projects for the offshore drilling sector in recent years as part of a deliberate strategy to serve this rapidly growing sector. Lakes Coal Trade Impacted by Weather in June
Shipments of coal on the Great Lakes totaled 2.6 million tons in June, a decrease of 9.7 percent compared to May, and a drop of nearly 13 percent compared to a year ago. Some of the decrease was the result of a lengthy outage at the Lakesâ largest coal-shipping operation, Superior Midwest Energy Terminal in Superior, Wisconsin. Flooding after a torrential storm forced shipments to cease on June 19. The dock resumed loading on July 8. Overseas shipments continued in June.

Award Recognizes Ferry Construction Cost Savings
Delivering value for transportation dollars was among attributes cited in a national award presented today to the Washington State Department of Transportation for building three new ferries under budget. WSDOT won the regional âUnder Budget, Large Projectâ category and was recognized for building three, 64-car, 750-passenger vessels on time and at a savings to taxpayers.
