AEGIR-Marine has been certified as a B Corporation (B Corp). With this certification, AEGIR-Marine joins other businesses that meet standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

AEGIR-Marine pursued this certification to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and to demonstrate that responsible business practices can go hand in hand with long-term success in the maritime industry.

All 12 of AEGIR-Marine’s offices worldwide are included in the certification, ensuring that its global operations are aligned with B Corp values of balancing profit with purpose. B Corps are companies verified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet standards of social and environmental impact, operating with a focus on creating value not only for shareholders but also for workers, communities and the planet.

To become a Certified B Corporation, companies undergo a review of the impact of their operations and business model on their workers, customers, communities and environment, and must meet a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment.

As part of the B Corp Certification the company has legally embedded its commitment to a purpose beyond profit in their company articles. Every three years B Corps must recertify to uphold certification.

The company views this milestone not as an endpoint, but as the start of a broader movement, encouraging other maritime companies to adopt more sustainable practices.
