Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Holds Christening, Launch Ceremony for Training Vessel

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group company based in Tokyo, held a christening and launch ceremony for the WAKASHIO MARU, a training ship for National Institute of Technology, Toyama College (NIT, Toyama College). The ceremony took place at the Enoura Plant of MHI's Shimonoseki Shipyard & Machinery Works in Yamaguchi Prefecture. ABS Acquires MetaSHIP Maritime Training Assets

In a deal to deliver immersive training at scale to the maritime industry, ABS has signed an agreement to purchase the MetaSHIP intellectual property and related vessel simulator software assets from Orka Informatics as part of the strategic growth plan for ABS Training Solutions.The acquisition, subject to Turkish regulatory approval, will allow ABS to expand its digital training program, which can be delivered on board, in port or at home, as well as in a global network of high-tech ABS learning centers in Qatar, Greece and Singapore.
