Marlink, a specialist in managed services for business-critical ICT solutions, has deployed its Sealink NextGen hybrid network and cyber security solutions across 50 vessels operated by Polish dry bulk carrier Polsteam.

The upgrade forms part of Marlink’s ‘possibility platform’ and is designed to support Polsteam’s transition to digitalized shipping operations, enhancing operational safety and efficiency while improving crew connectivity.

Under the agreement, Marlink will integrate low Earth orbit (LEO) Starlink internet with traditional VSAT services, managed through its XChange platform. The hybrid network will provide high bandwidth, low latency communications to support digitalized fleet operations.

Polsteam will also adopt Marlink’s Unified Threat Management (UTM) solution to enahnce cyber resilience.

“The Marlink solution enables us to enhance our remote operations in a secure environment, increasing efficiency and leisure solutions for our crews,” said Adam Rogucki, Technical Director at Polsteam.

“Polsteam has a reputation as a committed long-term player in the dry bulk market, with a requirement for high quality solutions from trusted partners. By addressing their needs for quality, security and enhanced connectivity options we are able to unlock opportunities and deliver tangible service enhancements,” added Tore Morten Olsen, President, Maritime, Marlink.

Founded in 1951, Polsteam is the largest dry bulk vessel operator in Eastern Europe, managing ships that transport cargo worldwide based on longstanding partnerships with major global cargo owners.
